Dear Senator Mark Begich (D – Alaska)
Today, you may remember, was a vote to end cloture on the attempted filibuster of gun legislation. The filibuster failed. There were many republicans who voted to end cloture (allowing there to be a vote on the legislation) and I am very proud of the ones who had the courage to do so.
Senator Begich, you were the ONLY Democrat who voted No. You wanted to let the Republican filibuster to succeed. Let me tell you what else you voted for today:
- You voted for continued gridlock in the Senate
- You voted for Mitch McConnell’s method of working
- You voted AGAINST the 26 victims of the Sandy Hook shooting.
- You voted AGAINST the victims of the Aurora Colorado shooting
- You voted FOR future gun massacres.
I expect that kind of garbage from Republicans and am pleasantly surprised when they act like adults and do the right thing. You did the wrong thing. You voted against America’s children today.
You are a coward.
